Find a Home Inspector Near You:

What is a home inspection and why do I need one?
A home inspection is a thorough examination of a property’s structural and mechanical systems. It is conducted by a professional home inspector, who is licensed by the state.
After inspecting the building’s foundation, walls, ceilings, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, the inspector will prepare a written home inspection report for the closing/settlement/escrow agent as part of the real estate closing transaction.
If you are a buyer, it is very important to ask for a home inspection, even if the property you are buying is new. Sellers may want to order a preliminary home inspection so that repairs can be made before they put their property on the market. Lenders often require a home inspection report before they will approve a loan.
